Review from Buyer
"I was looking for a coffee that could really give a good zing. In doing some research, I found the Deathwish coffee on the internet. Since I buy many items on Amazon, and I research Amazon reviews, I thought I'd check on Amazon and here it was.
TASTE: As others have mentioned, this coffee tastes great! It's VERY smooth to me, and it has great flavor. I'd have to say that it's probably the best medium roast coffee I've had! And, the fact that it's organic is a huge plus for me.
THE "ZING": As another reviewer mentioned, I didn't experience an extravagant caffeine rush. But, I did experience more of a zing with the Deathwish than my other coffees, and I think the "up" lasted a bit longer for me, too. I haven't had the Deathwish that long, so I'm still experimenting. Nonetheless, the taste of this coffee is such that it is worth the buy for that, although it's a bit pricey at $20 per pound.
AN INTERESTING NOTE: As the makers of Deathwish point out on their website, which is a bit counterintuitive, the longer a coffee bean is roasted, the LESS caffeine there typically is because the roasting process removes the caffeine. Many people (including me, initially) think that a darker roast coffee has more caffeine because it is "darker" and "more flavorful," but the opposite is usually (until Deathwish!) is true because it is roasted longer. The Deathwish makers say they found a coffee/process to have a darker roasted that has a higher amount of caffeine. So far, I agree...and with great taste to boot!"
